Lucio – A Portrait of an Artist in Italy
April 24, 2019
Lucio is a lovely man, a very talented guy and like most Italians loves to entertain with local wine & cheese!
He is very well know for restoring and creating sundials around the Piedmont region of Northern Italy an example of which you can see below.
He studied Pure Mathematics at the University in Turin, then, in 1976 he decided to take the path of an Artist and spent 6 years living & working in Brazil. He moved back to Italy in 1983 where his principal professional activity from 1986 was Gnomonics, the art of sundials.
Having created and renovated about 200 sundials in the Piedmont region of Italy, including a large sundial in Piazza Solferino in Turin, in 2012 he decided to bring his free pictorial production to the foreground again. Beyond the professional dimension, he has always interpreted his own artistic journey mostly as an internal path. He lives his life as a Buddhist monk in the Zen tradition.
